The beauty of the word ‘efficacy’

I very much like the english word “efficacy”. If you google it you’ll get the following result “the power to produce a desired result”.

One, then, needs to know (a) what is the desired result, and, (b) to have the power (and/or, to be empowered) to produce it.

More often than not, the problem is with (a) rather than with (b).

Why does this happen? Perhaps because many people are not so good in listening as they should be (or, even worse, as they think they are).

We must be making always sure that the desired result is clearly and equally understood by everyone participating at any given conversation.
