The AI adoption is a UI/UX design challenge and opportunity
We All use the Internet every single day. Not only our professional lives but also our social, political and family lives largely depend on it. We even find it hard to explain to a teenager how life was without it.
Still, 99.9% of us have absolutely no idea what the TCP/IP stack is and how these protocols actually work, let alone the network and physical layers, which are the definition of a “black box”, being that most of the users ignore their very existence.
This is exactly what I think will happen with AI. It will be everywhere, still it will be hardly noticeable. It will, then, be up to the UI/UX designers to find the optimal way to integrate this new, super powerful capabilities in ways that will make our lives even better and more enjoyable.
Are designers ready to take advantage of this opportunity? A few of them certainly and will thrive!
ps — on a historical note, it seems that the MULTICS vision of the 60s for “computing as a utility” is coming to existence, slowly but surely.
