Switch to Ubuntu

My first interaction with an operating system was MS-DOS. Then, I had a little bit of experience with MS Windows 3.1.

It was only when I was admitted to Computer Science Department at the University of Crete, where I dived into the UNIX world, using SunOS, Solaris and HP-UX — and suddenly PCs were perceived as a kind of a toy — not for serious work in any case.

After starting Virtual Trip Ltd I realized that I had to use MS Office and that need made my return to the Microsoft world a kind of obligatory; I was probably the only one in the team using MS Windows (Windows 2000, then Windows XP and then Windows 10).

Anyways, very recently (during the lock-down actually — is this some kind of side-effect?) I decided to switch to Linux and I have started using Ubuntu.

I cannot stress enough how impressed I am by its usability, its user-friendliness and its stability. And, for some reason, you get a feeling for better security and privacy. Moreover, packages such as LibreOffice work just fine, while you can always use Office365 online, if you feel like or need so.

The message then to my fellow business users then is clear: Switch to #Linux (and, in particular, Switch to #Ubuntu).

You will be impressed.
