My return to LinkedIn
A few years ago I realized that I was addicted to smartphone and social media usage. I was just spending too much time and energy on them, which had an impact on my mood, my relationships and, finally, on my productivity.
That article from September 25th, 2020, was letting my network know of my final LinkedIn post.
So, what has changed after a bit more than four years?
First of all, I really went off social media and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I also managed to reduce my daily smartphone usage by more than 50%. The extra time and energy did help for better mood, more meaningful relationships and higher productivity.
It also however turned out though that being off LinkedIn — specifically — had a toll on my actual capacity to do business. Reaching out to prospective business partners and team members is a significant part of what I must do in my work. The same for finding pertinent intelligence. And, this network for better or worse is the de facto place to do such things.
That’s why I am back on LinkedIn. I wish it were not required, but for the time being it is.
Helping scale-ups like Epignosis learning technologies and Yodeck, startups like DreamClass, EndoGusto, TraitForward, Qurio, Gracely and many others, scaling the Hellenic Angel Investors ecosystem with HeBAN — Hellenic Business Angels Network (Association) and, of course, contributing to a brighter future for Europe with Together for Europe — Movement for the European Federal Union provide a few of the several good reasons to be back!
See you then soon, both on LinkedIn and, hopefully, also in the real world out there :-)
