Five years ago, during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, we all watched our European Union falter.
Hospitals in Italy and Spain were overwhelmed. EU Member States closed borders and turned inward. The solidarity we hoped for was missing. The European Union didn’t rise to the challenge — and it wasn’t just about leadership. It was about structure.
That’s why, on April 12, 2020, I launched a new grassroots movement:
Together for Europe — for a strong, sovereign, democratic European Federal Union.
We follow the path laid out by the Rome Manifesto, a clear and practical plan to make this vision a reality.
Since then, things have only become more urgent:
- War on our continent.
- A global energy and inflation crisis.
- And a United States no longer guaranteeing European security.
We can’t rely on national governments — even if they wanted to unite Europe, they can’t. It’s outside their constitutional power.
Only we — the people — can demand a true European Union.
